Tough2
Strip industrial strength paint remover
is a environmentally friendlier and safer
paint remover that can strip even the toughest
paint.
|

Tough2 Strip industrial strength
paint remover is an industrial strength remover that safely strips the toughest
paint coatings. Tough2 Strip industrial strength paint remover paste
is environmentally friendly, biodegradable, non-flammable, water rinse-able
and contains no methylene chloride, caustic or other harsh chemicals. For
those applications where time of application and removal is critical, a
lighter coat lifts 1 to 4 layers of paint usually in 15 minutes to four
hours. Where multiple layers of paint are indicated, or there are
other more difficult coatings such as two part epoxies and urethanes, a
heavier coat will remove the paint in one application. Tough2 Strip industrial
strength paint remover works on a multitude of surfaces including wood,
metal, plaster, masonry, fiberglass, etc. As a non-caustic remover, the
surface does not need to be neutralized. For application, Tough2 Strip
industrial strength paint remover can be brushed, rolled or sprayed.

Hints |
|
If Tough2 Strip industrial paint
remover is applied too thinly, left on too long, or due to excessive
heat conditions, the applied area is difficult to scrape, try the
following:
|
 |
Mist the applied area with
Ready Strip Wash paint remover clean-up, wait 5-15 minutes and
remove.
|
 |
Reapply Tough2 Strip industrial
paint remover over itself, wait 15 to 30 minutes and remove.
|
 |
If neither choice above works,
scrape off product and reapply.
|
|
|
|

Since it is often
hard to know the type or the amount of paint on a surface, small
test areas should be stripped to determine the proper application
and dwell time needed for paint removal to occur.

For stripping 1 to 4 layers of paint quickly
- Apply Tough2 Strip industrial strength paint remover to the surface at
a total of approximately 1/64" thick (10 to 15 mils) with a brush, roller,
trowel, putty knife or sprayer. Can be sprayed effectively using an airless
sprayer. Drill mix before spraying - Remove
filters from sprayer & spray gun. Submerge pump directly into remover.
Do not use suction hose. Use NEW 1/4" or 3/8" airless hose.
Use at least a 1 GPM piston sprayer, .019 - .021 reversible spray tip.
A wet mil gauge should be used to measure thickness. Let the product dwell
from 15 minutes to 4 hours. Follow Suggested Removal Techniques below. Coverage
will vary between 100 and 150 sq. ft. per gallon when this application method
is used. For removal of multiple layers or stubborn coatings -
consult test patch guidelines. Tough2 Strip
industrial strength paint remover will easily cling to vertical surfaces.
Use your tool to fill detailed, intricate or grooved surfaces. For best
results apply at temperatures between 60° F and 80° F. Product activity
is reduced below a temperature of 60° F and may require additional dwell
time before all layers of paint are removed. If product freezes let thaw
and stir vigorously until product is consistent. No Neutralization required.
Clean tools promptly after use with soap and water.

Tough2 Strip - Performance Information
|
|

Our test
boards had 15 painted layers.
|
What's on the
boards?
2 layers latex primer (white)
2 layers oil base Rust Oleum (pink)
2 layers latex (blue)
2 layers latex (yellow)
1 layer latex Krylon (purple)
2 layers oil base Rust Oleum (pink)
2 layers latex (dark blue)
2 layers latex (white)
Observations
during use:
We applied Tough2 Strip to our test board in a temperature controlled environment.
The product was very thin and easily applied. Noticeable popping of the
paint layers began within hours and improved as time progressed. The product
stayed wet during our entire 24 hour test period.
Recommendations for Tough2 Strip Pro:
We used the ProGrip2 putty knife to remove the paint. No other tools were
needed. We were left with roughly 1/2 of a single paint layer out of 15
coats of paint. This 1/2 layer could have easily been removed with an application
of Ready Strip Wash paint remover cleanup. Due to its thin consistency we
recommend StripTox in vertical applications.

Misting the applied area with Ready Strip
Wash paint remover clean-up prior to removal makes lifting of the paint
or varnish easier. Misting with Ready Strip Wash paint remover clean-up
also reactivates the product if it feels dry to the touch. Any paint residue
left on a surface should be removed within a short period of time so that
paint residue will not dry up and re-adhere. In some circumstances, it may
look like the last layer of paint is still on the surface. This is
not a dried layer of paint, but paint & remover which has been emulsified
so that it can be removed.

Safety goggles are recommended for eye
protection. Protective gloves such as butyl rubber,
neoprene gloves are also recommended. Maintain adequate ventilation
especially in confined areas. If spraying or misting is expected use NIOSH
approved chemical cartridge (organic vapor) respiratory equipment (full
face respirator recommended). In case of inhalation -
remove victim to fresh air and provide oxygen if breathing is difficult.
In case of eye contact - flush exposed areas with large quantities of water.
In case of skin contact - wash skin with soap and water. Use emollient skin
creams. In case of ingestion - do not induce vomiting. Call physician immediately.
