The
time needed for proper etching with RemovALL 120 safe etch for concrete
depends mainly on the type and age of the concrete. Most concrete can be
etched within 15 to 30 minutes. Should you want a deeper etch, use a nylon
brush, roller or rag to go over the surface and allow another 15 minutes
contact time. Repeat, as needed, for additional etch. For optimum results
rinse the product off as soon as adequate etch has been achieved.
Always remove any contaminant, including oil and grease from the surface
prior to etch and regularly check pH at each stage to ensure compatibility.
Coatings can be repainted where the coating is in sound shape. Any bare
spots should also be etched.
Thoroughly rinse with warm clean water to remove all residues when adequate
etch has been achieved. It is preferential to use a high pressure washer
for this process. Litmus paper is needed to check the pH of the rinse water.
If the rinse water is not pH neutral (pH 7-8) or if a film is present on
the surface, additional rinsing is necessary. Do not let RemovALL 120 safe
etch for concrete dry out on the surface.
Use a shop vac to remove any remaining powder after the surface had dried.
If you do not remove this powder it may lead to reduced or poor product
adhesion.
