Multi-Strip heavy duty paint
remover is a unique, environmentally safe paint remover designed to remove
up to 15 layers of paint in one application. While other paint removers
evaporate in a short time and lose their strength, the longer you leave
on Multi-Strip heavy duty paint remover the more layers of paint it removes.
It is biodegradable, non-flammable, non-combustible and contains no methylene
chloride or caustic. Multi-Strip heavy duty paint remover is odor-free and
can be easily cleaned up with Ready Strip Wash paint remover clean-up. As
a paste it clings easily to vertical surfaces and completely fills detailed
areas. For application, it can be brushed, rolled or sprayed on the surface
with an airless paint sprayer. In addition, it creates less waste for easy
disposal. It requires no neutralization (neutral pH).

Hints |
|
If Multi-Strip heavy duty paint
remover is applied too thinly, left on too long, or due to excessive
heat conditions, the applied area is difficult to scrape, try the
following:
|
 |
Misting the applied area with
Ready Strip Wash paint remover clean-up prior to removal makes
lifting of the paint or varnish easier.
|
 |
Misting with Ready Strip Wash
paint remover clean-up also reactivates the product if it feels
dry to the touch.
|
 |
Any residue left on a surface
should be removed within a short period of time so that paint
residue will not dry up and re-adhere to the surface.

Since it is often
hard to know the type or the amount of paint on a surface, two small
test areas should be stripped to determine the proper application
and dwell time needed for paint removal to occur.

Multi-Strip heavy duty paint remover is
applied to the surface at a total of approximately 1/32" thick (30 mils)
with a brush, roller, putty knife or sprayer. Can be sprayed effectively
using an airless sprayer. Drill mix before spraying
- Remove filters from sprayer & spray gun - Submerge pump directly into
remover. Do not use suction hose - Use NEW 1/4" or 3/8" airless hose.
Use at least a 1 GPM piston sprayer, .019-.021 reversible spray tip. A wet
mil gauge should be used to measure thickness. Multi Strip heavy duty
paint remover will easily cling to vertical surfaces. Use your tool to fill
detailed, intricate or grooved surfaces. For best results apply Multi-Strip
heavy duty paint remover at temperatures between 60° F and 80° F. Product
activity is reduced below a temperature of 60° F and may require additional
dwell time before all layers of paint are removed. If product freezes let
thaw and stir vigorously until product is consistent. Coverage for Multi-Strip
heavy duty paint remover varies between 50 and 75+ sq. ft. per gal. depending
upon the type and amount of paint on a surface. No Neutralization required.
Clean tools promptly after use with soap and water.

Multi-Strip - Performance Information
|
|

Our test
boards had 15 painted layers.
|
What's on the
boards?
2 layers latex primer (white)
2 layers oil base Rust Oleum (pink)
2 layers latex (blue)
2 layers latex (yellow)
1 layer latex Krylon (purple)
2 layers oil base Rust Oleum (pink)
2 layers latex (dark blue)
2 layers latex (white)
Observations
during use:
We applied Multi-Strip to our test board in a temperature controlled environment.
The product had a very spreadable consistency with little to no odor.
Recommendations
for Multi-Strip:
At 24 hours we used the ProGrip2 putty knife to easily remove 13 of the
15 painted layers. This product performed equally the same as Strip
Tox except that it is not designed for lead based paint and its consistency
is much looser whereas Strip Tox is more paste-like. If you are not
stripping lead based paint and do not have many vertical surfaces to strip
then Multi-Strip would be a better buy at $25.00 savings per gallon.

bottom layers from the surface. Use a 4in or wider razor blade scraper (wallpaper
remover) or stiff putty knife (pipe railings or irregular surfaces should
